Rear bumper

I got an SE, and my rear bumper is messed up from a hit and run last Friday. I really like the GT bumper, does anybody know the difference in prices would be? I'm too lazy to go to the Pontiac dealership and find out for myself (It's 30 min away).

from the dealership they are very expensive. and sre almost the same price.
also why do you want to put a gt bumper on it??? it wont look good with the se sides and front.

i would look around on the boards and buy one from someone who put a body kit on.......it will be alot cheaper

I know, it would look odd. But I plan on changing the SE sides and front bumper, and since I'm not paying for it, I might as well take advantage of it.

I got my new front end for $50 from a kid who got a kit.. just needed to get it painted. Good as new. :) Check the For Sale section, or even try ebay..

what color is your car? ive got a black SE bumper ill sell ya for $100. i live in south OC, not too far from you. if you need it painted then itll be perfect, since theres only minor paint scrapes. im only selling it so cheap cus i dont have room to store it anymore.

BTW itll cost a lot to convert to GT, thats what i did. its a lot of work, but itl looks cool in the end.

Yeah that's what I have, an SE, so I got the bumper! I just need a GT one. I have a black 2000 SE.

I understand that converting an SE to a GT would cost alot. I mean, I'd have to change the seats, gauge, engine, suspenion, brakes, etc...

Doesn't the GT tranny even have different gear ratios compared to the SE?

Anyways, I just want to get the bumpers and ribs. I plan on getting lowered and get new rims, but that won't be for a while. And I'm not going to do anything to my engine, I figure I might as well wait that this one dies before I get something new....I dunno.

:lol: I don't think he meant u were completely converting to a GT!! At that rate u shoulda just got a GT!! Converting to a GT usually just means ur swapping the SE cladding to GT.. n sometimes changing up the rear brakes n tailz.. hahaha but not the engine!!!

hmmmm...GT tails would be nice too. Then I could clear them.

i thought you needed a new rear bumper and thats why you were posting.

i was referring to just the body parts. i converted mine, well partly. i did the body panels. my car already had the GT seats and steering wheel stereo controls. i do plan to get the speedo still, and i have custom tail lights being built right now for me, check that, they are done and reay for me to pick up. :D

lemme know if you want that bumper. it sounded like you had a damaged one.

Yeah I got in a hit and run last Friday, but I did get his license and the police have been in contact with the guy. If I can't get a hold of a GT bumper soon, I'm just gonna keep the SE bumper and have the collision people fix it.
