good luck with that one, if u could find someone with enough know how to do it, it wont be cheap, you mine as well go out an buy a different car... i have never seen it done, or seen it attempted in our cars... somebody said something about the 05 ga's gettin a 5 speed manual, then maybe you could take a new manual gear box and swap it but i dont know, and nobody will know unitl it is tried.... if you do it i would for sure want to see it..

A quick search will turn up a multitude of thread son this subject. Nothing is impossible, but there are no production parts available to make it happen, it would all have to be custom-crafted. Unless you're just doing it to be unique, I'd say the cost of doing so would outweigh the benefits. If you want a 5-speed that bad, settle for a 4-cylinder or get a different car. :(

Here's something I've been wondering. Granted I know nothing about pre 99 ga's, hell I wasn't even interested in ga's untill I got this one thrown in my lap (long story) But wasn't there a 3.1 v6, 5 speed available in the '98 & down gt's? if so, could that be a possible swap w/ a little creativity? I know there'd be a catch in the computer end of it, even if there was a fairly easy bolt up to it.

I heard a while back that the manual tranny in the baretta sould bolt right onto the 2.4...

You got a V6? I think the only way to get a manual for that is to have a transmission place make one.

I think a good substitute for the manual problem is you can somehow get that tapshift feature from the new GP's into a GA.

I've read that front wheel drive manual trannys just cant be made to be reliable with a torquey engine like a 3400. The technology just isn't around yet. Even the automatics in our late model GAs aren't that tough.

didn't Graden(sp) just pull off something like this, Seems I just read his trany went south, but he had a V6 5 speed going. He got lucky and new some one who made him a fly wheel.

Check around on his threads ??
