What would you do with $500

Alright, I have about $500 to spend on my car....mostly performance mods. Give me your idea. I already have magnaflow exhaust and that is about it. Let me hear what you think.

Normally around $250 depending on company higher or lower. The reason i have not done this though is that down time for the car is about a week. I guess you could buy a computer from a junk yard and send that in for no downtime...

This dose not sound like a chip? it sounds more like reprogramming?

Basically they solder a chip onto the existing computer which overrides factory programming with performance oriented programming. It basically is reprogramming though.

I would mostly work on the intake to compliment the exhaust. That is what i will be doing because i have mag's too. I will be getting a CAI, MAF, and ported throttle body. All that will be close to 500 bux and you can easily install them yourself with sufficient gains.

ok, id suggest a DHP and a CAI. it all depends though. if you want some boom, save up 500 more and get yourself a semi decent stereo. It really all depends on what type of guy you are.. looks/sound/or speed. Im trying to cover all three and ill tell you... it aint easy! :)

i agree. lets see, $10,000 system (i didnt spend that much tho), and thousands on the other two, and i still only get respect from SOME ga people, and not really anybody else. doesnt matter who i beat in a race, or how flashy the car is, nobody will recognize.

Well i'm not that far off. MAF=$270(i've seen it on ebay) CAI=$96(Bought one on ebay) Throttle body=$120 w/o core charge.

grand total=$486... but then again that isn't including shipping...

Yea, id lvoe to have the setup dave has... but I aint minding mine. Hell for me I only got 2000$ in my stereo, 400$ in performance (thought the jet doesnt work) and 600$ in look mods. Though the performance is going to be up to over 1000$ in a couple of months. Stupid school takes all my money.

You can get a CAI for 60 bucks with a k&n cone, the jet chip is 250ish, and that makes 330. now you have 170$ to play with, beyond that. Get some badass wires, msd? accel? also throw some bosch plugs in there, and a new hp cap and rotor, that will cost 70ish, and youll be at 100 I dont know much about the 3100 TB, but if its anything like the 2.4, you can take it to a machine shop and have them bore it, and then fab a little bit bigger butterfly. That will cost you 40$ so now your at 60$. After those mods, your gettin into expensive $, so start savin again :D. throw that 60 at some STBs

I would do the exhaust. I only got a muffler right now with a small section of custom piping behind the resinator. I need to redo all of my exhaust piping. Appearence wise I want to get leather seats in my car. Other than that I already got a CAI, reprogramed ecu and a system so I would probibly save up the money and either get custom made headers (since nobody makes) or a 3400.

hmm..500 dollars. I'd get it in 50's and flash it in front of all my friend's faces. Then maybe pick up a CAI...Exaust. Maybe save up some more and buy a Turbo and accesories.
