That intake you are ordering will probably not even fit correctly in your engine bay. You should order one that is made for you car. I do not have the 3400 but I know a lot of guys on here have a CAI on there 3400 and I am sure they can tell you the best brand to buy. Just get one made for our cars where you do not have to do any custom work.

Doctor Speed makes a full cold air kit for the 3400 motor w/ a K&N Filter, i have this kit and it was easy to install with all senor holes drilled for you. It's like 210$ i think. Good Luck

You should also check out Keith's custom CAIs at http://www.geocities.com/nbodyintakes

I'd go with Keith's before Dr. Speed... I hear that dr. speed takes forever to ship, and Keith's is just as good and cheaper!

And you'll have your intake 7-10 business days after I receive payment ;)

i have a few buddies that have made "custom" CAI and they said they'd give me a hand .. so

the truth is.. a CAI is a CAI... just tubing and stuff. Sure if you have a lot of bends then its not as good as a straight pipe. So, yeah if you cut it, nothing will happen, it wont make you loose anything. The only reason people are suggesting other CAI is because they are specifically made to fit in that little opening next to the battery.
www.n-body.net has a "how to" using a Civic intake.
