What about a dual exhaust for the 2.4L, like what the V-6 has??? I like the look of it and was wondering if it could be done?!?! I'm not looking for performance, but more for look, If I get the performance along with it, BONUS!!!!!:agree:

:thanks:

... yes, the SE (4 or 6 cylinder) will accept the same muffler as the GT :)

As Kelly said, you can set it up exactly the same way as a 6 cylinder. Just run your exhaust back to a Camaro type muffler and split off the duals. Magnaflow and FlowMaster both make them along with several other companies.

You can, but why? It does look cool, but the only thing its doing is decreasing your performance...

Actually, a Cat Back exhaust with a performance muffler like a Magnaflow or Flowmaster will flow about the same whether it's a single or dual and the "little" bit of back pressure you may get out of a dual will probably not hurt you much.

I opted for a single straight mount muffler on my SE because I hated the look of that transverse muffle hanging under there, but I really don't think it performs any better than a dual outlet, transverse mount muffler would have. If I had a GT with the ground affects bumper with the cutouts I would have stayed with the Camaro style. I imagine a dyno test would probably be less than a half a horse difference.

To add to the OldGuy's statement the main thing that will effect performance isn't a single outlet muffler over a duel outlet as both styles of the same brand will show simular flow characteristics. The pipe leading to the muffler is where the biggest incress or decress in performance can be made.

You said it!

IT either doesnt effect you, or it "doesnt hurt you much"

Then factor in the extra weight of the 2nd muffler and tailpipe, and bam, you have a tenth off your time

Stick with a single pipe, or if at all, do just a pipe over there.

No, he's not talking about a 2nd muffler, like the stock one I dumped, but a single muffler with dual outputs...
