the only place that has done it is AED. theyve done their own, contact them to see if they can do it for you. go to aedcentral.com to contact them. they are in oceanside.

Once I get my new job (if I get it) I'm thinking about swappin my engine for something bigger, instead of modding it all out. Then I can mod the big guy for even more HP.

Honestly you can put enough power through the 3400 to where you will barely be able to handle it.

If you are looking to a big time mod. It would probably be cheaper and easier to go to a 4T65 or a completely rebuilt 4T45 and forced induction on a built motor.

thanks for the info guys.

3400 doesnt really have much support for it, not enough to keep it at 400 whp on street fuel (87,89,91).

60,000 to swap a v8 ouch:banghead:

So anyone else besides aed does it? We have a local place that swaps import engines, they do it pretty cheap. Is there an import engine that will make a good swap? Sounds like v8 is out of reach.

HOLY CHIT!!! That can't be what AED quoted, is it? Damn! That means that they spent a LOT of money to get BettyRacer.

The price quoted reflects alot of customization and fabrication. This is to do one from scratch. Now that we have done this, a V8 conversion kit CAN be developed. If one wants US to do this "right now ;)" , the price would be as quoted. :D
I currently have a SC LS1 that were doing next. After this car is complete. We will have all "custom" modifications dialed in and will then be better prepared (parts lists etc) to sell a conversion kit. That wont be very expensive.;) It was important for us to do this with two diffrent style engines as to get all variables together and present a more versatile package.
I belive I spoke w/ U briefly this morning. I appologise I was unable to elaborate on this at that time. More details on this project will be publically published very soon.
Thanks
Len

Yep we did talk. I understood, and thats why I'll wait up until you guys finish developing the "conversion" maybe with a manual tranny too. :jen: :agree:

Uh.... yes you can. But what will you do about the tranny?

Get a turbo kit (they are available soon and they will use 42# injectors when the chip is burned) and build the engine. Get headwork done ($1200 with LS1 springs & retainers and valve work), a cam ($300 if you use a new cam), 8.5:1 pistons ($600), kyro the crank($?), Eagle rods($?), Clevite(sp, $?) bearings the list goes on.

You'll hit 400 HP very easily. Why haven't you seen one yet? You will very soon. I think there are several people approaching 400 HP as I type. The biggest thing holding us back is not the engine, its the transmission. Which is something I am addressing.

I'm not sure if you can go 100% off of pump gas, but the worst I would expect you have to do is go to about 1 gal. of methanol per fillup which is fairly cheap $2.75/gal is what I paid. Then again if you go liquid air intercooler and get a large exhaust, colder plugs, a really good computer tune you may not even have to do that.

You can do anything if you have the money. A V8 swap will cost you much more than what you can do with the 3400.

And far as the 3400 not having much support, you haven't looked very hard.

We have 3 companies that do P&P UIM, LIM, and TB's (including newly made ones). Comp is making billet cams within a year. We found out that LS1 springs fit 3400 heads. HP Performance is coming out with a turbo kit. There are 2 companies that burn chips now, a thrid is on the way. We have a bunch of suspension parts now. We have an underdrive pulley. A twin screw SC is in the works.

Geez, I can't even count how many items there are for the 3400. So why do you say we don't have support?

Who does the port and polish and who burns chips? I would like to buy an underdrive pulley for the 96gt. Please post em, thanks!

I'm curious how many people know what a Lenco is these days.

I hope that car with a Lenco won't see much street use.
Guy up here runs a 1200+hp Z28 with a twinturbo small block (alot of people saw it during the meet, think John even has a video) and he's running a Lenco. He's even said a few times that it's terrible or street use.

I don't know who burns the chips for a '96 but here is some links for companies that might have stuff for you. BTW, the 3100 can swap top ends with a 3400.

If you have OBDI then you have lots of options... I just don't know the details because I have a OBDII on a 99+ which is a little different than the older years.

http://www.fastfwdperformance.com/ for the UD pulley and other items

http://www1.ecxmall.com/stores/americanperformance/StoreFront.bok for P&P and I'm not sure if you can use the TB's from the 99+ GAGT's

Well I actually didnt know about all of that stuff. And probbly that will be cheaper for me to get a v8 swap (once aed finishes their testing). If I have to get every single engine component and get them all installed somewhere it would run me a lot of time, headache, cash, not to mention i am clueless where to get all of those. And really I have no idea how an engine valve or spring or anything supposed to look like or where they go and how much they should be. the only thing I can easily get is an exhaust (everything after cat conv), everything else is like above my head. I just like racing, modding is that side thing that helps me go faster but I am totally clueless on modding.
