It's 3099 for a GT Coupe and 3118 for the GT sedan, but I've seen the numbers vary too. I think this would be pretty close though because it's off the Pontiac site.

k.. think of it thise way.. the more options you have.. the more it weighs. Also remember that a coupe weighs about 100 lbs less than a sedan. Generally a coupe weighs just under 3100 lbs. As for differences, like I said, it really all depends. Hell even the weight between an SE and GT differ due to different suspension, breaks, even the bloody exhaust! hehe so generally think of it as 3100 lbs with 3200 for a sedan

Uhhh....no. If you look in your door jamb, thats the weight with 4 people in the car plus luggage in the booot.

Every little option will change that figure. That is a rough estimate pre-vehicle.
And I don't know where they got 4400 from but that thing would be a tank at that weight. lol.

How so? As stated Leather will weigh more than cloth, sunroof glass and mech. weighs more than a thin peice of metal, power windows weigh more, spoiler, hood (SCT vs. non-SCT), optional CD player/cassette deck, floor mats, along with AC, wheels and tires, and drum brakes. Tack on thicker anti-sway bars on the GT, and we haven't even consider motor options and transmissions.
:D
I'm pretty sure they messure them as 'curb weight' and not 'dry weight'. The motorcycle industry likes to fool the consumer and list how much the bike weighs in 'dry weight', which is the bike before the oil, fork oil, gas, brake fluid, etc that all can tack on pounds fast.

I know this thread is done, but the weight of your car is listed on the drivers side door.
