Not a bad set up, if it works for you and your happy with it who cares. lol Is that your breather filter on the end of the stock breather hose? Is there any way you could put the filter on the valve cover? Other than that it's a pretty cool way of gettign rid of the actual top of the aircleaner assembly, and it probably flows a little better too.
Just curious, did you remove the studs that the factory assembly mounted to the t.b.? How did you secure the hose....looks liek a hose clamp, but I couldn't make it out.
Looks like your off to a nice start, next start cleanin! lol

first off the filter is at the end of the aluminum pipe, and two i did remove the studs cause they stuck out to much so i went to napa and put the same bolts with out the top part, and i have it secured by a velcro strap around the radiator hose. I havnt started cleaning the engine yet, no need to make fun.

Sorry, didn't mean for it so seem like I was making fun, but I think its a pretty cool set up. I actually had a set up like that on my car but I never thought of using the rubber hose to come off the tb like you did, but I did have my filter end up in aboutthe same area(My filter actually sat under the battery tray so it was pretty far away from any hood hot air under the hood).
When you do start to clean up your engine bay, use some Simple Green. the stuff works great.

lol dude, you need to relax. FIRST OFF you need to get your head out of your ass and stop thinking your driving the supreme 2.5.
Of anyone in this forum, NiteShadow has by far the most modded 2.5 and theres no way I'm even attempting to talk mine up and make it seem fast. Me and him talk quite a bit, so I know what he has going on with it. As for mine, ok...intake, exhaust, plugs, wires, and the 35 shot N20. I don't see any thing there for me to even start to brag about being fast....
The last time you started with me and wanted to race, i made the offer, but you never had any reply. Anytime, any place huh...

Matter of fact lets put the slips up on the line for it too because when its all over I would do everyone in the GAOC a favor because we all wouldn't have to put up with your 75% nonsense posts here because you would no longer be a Grand Am owner. But on the other hand you don't have a Cat. converter so.... LOL
Further more, Bigsnoopdogg, I believe you were warned in the past about the nature of some of your posts.Don't worry, Shawn and Kelly, as well as the other moderators are aware of everything. If they choose to ban you, there are other Grand Am and N-body forums on line you can go to.
As far as this thread goes Stuman2.5 started it, and all comments from here on out should be about what he did, if not THEY WILL BE DELETED. I actaully talked to him the other night and we're cool, he knows I'm not talking smack on him. Sorry your thread got jacked.

Yeah My 2.5 is the supreme one. :D j/k
As far as intakes go, I tried makeing one, but got stuck. My design was to remove the air cleaner assembly, and take the "neck" off it and flip it over so the opening to the intakle hose pointed over to the other side of the engine bay, then run a hose over the alternator and down through a hole cut into the plastic in front of the vapor canister into the wheel well. The problem was with the alternator, I was able to find a three groove belt short enough to lower it significantly, but the physical limits of the mounts prevented me from obtaining the clearance necessary to run a pipe to the passenger side fender well. A custom alternator bracket would be necessary.
I like your setup, it seems to get the job done well. As for the dirty engine, Once there is a company that will make a rocker arm cover gasket that will not leak, I will clean my engine, untill then its like paddling upstream.
I think that setup is cool. Keep up the good work

Damn, I didn't know i would start a riot. When I changed my wires and plugs I replaced the valve gasket, just a regular cork gasket and it actually stopped the leaking for a while untill one day my thermostat stuck and the engine got up to almost 260, so i pulled over and the oil was bubling, i think the heat messed the gasket up, but know it leaks just like before, so i think i am not going to mess with it for a while.

there are several gasket types out there all suck. metal core cork, solid cork, plastiv, rtv. None work right, i think it is a desi9gn problem with the cover itself as much as the gasket.

My air intake is just the old air cleaner all chopped off so you can see the k&n all around. It just sits on top of the TBI. I did it with a hacksaw:D

i installed a new rubber valve cover gasket on my car and it hasn't leaked yet. I also got some spreaders (look like a lilttle triangle piece of metal) that helped spread out the bolt torque so it wasn't just tightened down around the bolts. As for my ram air i abandoned it for now (as in i got really upset with it) besides the fact my car is undergoing some body work etc . Nineteen88ga has ram air too and i think he has pics of it. I have pics of my ram air set up that i will post when i am finished with my car. Anyways back to the topic. Stuman, very nice work with the cold air intake. I like it and keep up the good work!
