Ok i have some basic quesitons, i have a 99 GAGT with 225/50/16's on it and am thinking about putting 17" rims on it but dont know what it will do to speedo accuracy and performance, also do i have to stay with the 225/50 or can i switch to a different size b/c its hard to find such big ones. If i can switch how would this affect my ride? any help would be greatly apprectiated.
thanks

if u are gonna run 17's go with either 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 , and ull be fine
the 235 is wider than the 225... like if u were looking at the back of your car the width if bigger... giving it a meaner stance i guess... i run 225 with my 18's, so u should be fine with that...

if u run:
225/45/17... your speedo will be off by .3 mph
235/45/17... your speedo will be off by 1.1 mph
so when ur speedo says ur going 60 ur going 60.3
so when ur speedo says ur going 60 ur going 61.1
^ hope that helps :)

How would 225/45/17 throw off your speedo? The tire diameter and width are not changing.
I highly recommend you go with a 225/45 size because the 50 will look gay and your wheels will look like 16's. What is the width of your wheels? If its 7.5 or 8 then it might be better to go to the 235 width.
