I don't have XM, but I've installed a ton of both Sirius and XM. The major difference wit hthem is that Sirius is 100% comercial free, where as XM has only 30 comercial free stations. If your looking to get more music, Maybe Sirius might be the better way to go, but XM is also a few bucks cheaperper month so if yo ucan live with a few comercials maybe XM might be better.
I've also heard that Sirius is a little better for rap and rock music compared to XM. but I guess it depends what your into.

Hey yea i have XM and it kicks ass I only listen to FM or AM now for local weather and local traffic. I had the Delphi unit and mounted it near my shifter, then got the Alpine XMA unit, and mounted the tiny display on the left console between the tach and water temp guage i love it best money i ever ever ever spent

I just got a Kenwood Here 2 Anywhere set up free from our Sirius rep(receiver, car kit and a home kit...that I have No use for) and I have it in my vehicles now. WOW Its pretty cool. I've heard people complain about an FM modulated DSR sound quality before, but mine seems to sound great so far. I have to turn up the volume a little higher compared to CD's, but it's still static/backgrond hiss free. The amazing part is that its a wireless FM modulator....sounds suprisingly good!
