Timing chain replacement?

How often does the timing chain need to be inspected or replaced on the 2.4L engine in the 99-01 GAs? Is it a metal roller chain, like a motorcycle chain, or is it one of those plastic things that needs to be replaced every 60k miles or so?

No, its a metal chain, really you only need to change it when it streaches or breaks. Very rare for them to go out.
