View Full Version : Modifying stock intake w/ram air?
Im a new guy here in need of some help.
I did a few searches and came up with nothing.
Im wondering if there is any cheap way to modify my stock ram air intake set up to make it a bit more efficient.
Like on my Escort ZX2 you can remove 2 large resonators that do nothing but slow air flow.
I know the gains will be minimal if any.
Thanks for the help

Go here and look under performance, and go to Intake Resonator Removal - Grand Am/Alero
http://www.n-body.net/tech/index.php
You won't get any measurable gains, but it will help a little.
thats what i was looking for
Thanks

It's been posted many times before.....the difference between the GT and the SEs HP rating is the size of the exhaust. 2 1/4" on the gt and 2" on the SE. Ram Air doesn't come into play on a dyno test.
Once you change the exhaust on an SE the HP is the same.

because we all know ram air ads so much power
id take it off and pop in a cold air.
i would love to take it off but not till tax refund time :)
for now removing the Resonator is the best i can do.
