Im trying to drain my radiator. I just found the plug not too long ago. I'm wondering. Does it totally come off? I tried twisting it, but it stops at a certain point and I was afraid it would break off.

If it's not supposed to come off, my radiator doesn't drain very well. It stopped dripping after a certain point, and my radiator still has almost full anti-freeze.

It's a 97 grand am gt, by the way.

No it doesn't come off, when you are draining the radiator make sure you take the cap off the resivoir (however you spell it) That should get most of it, I take off the hoses too, there is quite a bitt in there, there are also drain plugs on the engine, good luck

Hmmm...when I drained it, I took off the engine cap off, and it was empty. Is this normal? Was antifluid in there?

And I put the radiator flush on there and I did all the stuff I'm supposed to do. Then it says to drain the flush out and put water in. Start the engine for and put the heater on high. Then cool the engine off. then drain the water again, etc...

Damn, this takes forever! It's nighttime soon! Can't I just drain the flush later on, put some water in there and keep it there overnight?

i wouldnt just plain water in it cause it could cause rust but i guess it u want to keep the radiator flush in it over night it wouldnt be a problem, if u think about it, it would clean it up relly good then

you're not going to be able to see it while the car is sitting because of the way the radiatior is made

Ok, I flushed the radiator. I filled it up with already-mixed anti-freeze, but the low water on radiator light is still on. I drove it around a bit, but it doesn't seem to turn off.

Assuming you bled the system well most likely problem is a stuck sensor, give that coolant resevoir a bit of a whack!
