Power steering hose replacement

I have just a couple questions. First off I have a 00 GAGT and was wondering how you can tell if you have Variable Assist Steering. The reason I need to know it because I have to replace my Power Steering return hose and there are two different ones, VAS and non-VAS type. Has anyone replaced this hose before? If so is it difficult? I have an extended warranty however it is a $200 deductible and if I can do it for the price of a hose and fluid I will.
