ok, I was wondering what the rarest colors are for each generation of the GA's and it'd be cool to be able to back it up with production numbers

I think that the silver color that came on the 94-95 was pretty rare. I am not sure exactly what year it was on, but I just saw one yesterday! It must have been stock because it was already rusting:lol: And also the blue color that came in that year.

How about the bronze mist color that came on the 99-00 years I think it was.

The purple was pretty rare too.

I don't know about anywhere else, but I haven't seen many the color of mine and if I do they're always a sedan.

Maybe it's just an ugly color and on one else likes it

I love your color Old Guy, don't worry! But it is very rare here too.

For the 92-95 model, the silver, light blue, and black color are rare in here, but white, red, aqua are pretty common. I think that the most popular color here are the dark green like mine.

I think mines actually kinda rare. Its Fusion Orange. I dont think they made that many. Also I have the classic chrometechs (regular five stars), not the torqued ones. Every new gt I see has the torqued rims, wonder why???

I meant grand ams, mine's the only one Ive seen on the road so far...

As for another rare combination, my vote would be for a gold on the GT trim...Ive seen maybe one since theyve been out in 99

I'd say black on the 92-95's, especially on the SE's. Almost all of the 92-95's here are either dark green, red, aqua or white in that order.

I think in the 92-95 body style the Gray (darker than the silver) and the Purple are rare and in the 99+ I think Purple and the Auburn Mist. I have been looking for an auburn mist ga for a while now. If I would find one I would jump on it in a second.

I don't understand what you mean by they aren't the same? I look at my car and old guys car and the colors look the same?

I agree with you on the Fusion Orange. Mine is the only GRAND AM that I have seen in that color on the road. I got my car April 1 and havent seen another one yet. I have seen Aztecks, Sunfires, Caddy CTS's, Grand Prix's and a bunch more, but only have seen 1 (mine) grand am.

No they are not the same. The 02 is actually more blue than green and a little darker. If you look at the pics in my CarDomain it's pretty close to the color in person.

A guy at work has a Teal 99 GA and it's a great color!!

That purplish-brownish color (it depends on the way the sun hits it is auburn metallic mist/night mist (depends on what book ur in) it was only offered in 99-00 in the GA SE only no GT's and around here (in NY) i've have only seen 1 GA SE like mine I would only guess it wasn't well liked i happen to love the color when it is waxed and done up it looks amazing!!! and i've gotton alot of good things said about it:)

Wow... back from the dead.

While I don't have any numbers to back it up...
I'd probably have to vote for the light gray on the 92-95's... I don't recall the color name, or exact years available (think 92-94) but do know it was SE only. I once saw a GT with this color - someone either changed the fascias or repainted a GT in that color. While I usually find silvers/grays boring, it looked pretty nice.
The purple color is pretty rare in 95, especially the GT. It was more common on 96-98 though.

On the newer gen... probably that brown-purple (Auburn Mist IIRC) or Medium Gurlf Blue Metallic (SE only, 2000).

98 2 DR white is pretty rare with tan interior and power windows

Ehh... not really. Out of a group of 30-40 cars, there were 2 at a local meet we held sometime around 2002.

2 DR 98 GAGT with power windows and tan interior(white exterior)

not the 1999-05's

I have a silver, and I do remember someone posting a grey SE that looked amazing. I have seen one other silver GASE around here a couple of times, but it appears to be a bit lighter than mine.

I personally find cloth tan interiors to be vomit inducing; leather on the other hand...

I've never seen any pre-'99's that blue before, I've seen the darker (like on the 99+'s), I've always assumed yours was custom.

Mine's pretty rare, '98 and it's purple. Anyone know the specific name for it? The two times I've been in autozone to get a bottle of touch up paint they said they didn't carry it because it was too rare of a color.

I don't know if it was stock (doubt it), but about a month ago a dealer down the road from me had a 1999 GT, DARK green, with gold pin stripes, accents, and the normal gt 5 spoke rims that are usually chromed, but they were gold too. Along with the calipers, and all the badges along the car. Looked hot as hell

Still not rare at all. I've literally seen at least a dozen between local meets, cars in parking lots, and junkyards. Sure the darker interior is more common, but I've actually seen the tan interior on more white 96-98's than any other exterior color.

Harry's U-Pull-It, Hazleton. Between 2000 and now. I know I've seen that combo several times on different cars there over the years.

Or if that's your polite way of calling BS... some of the old school east coasters might remember one of regulars in 2002 who went by the nickname "Rudd" who had that combo. I might even have pics somewhere.

My friend's girlfriend has a GAGT in that same orange. I think I've seen another one around town in the same color (without the ram air). IMO, the metallic gulf blue (http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1842/im001826copytt1.jpg) is pretty darn rare. I think I've only seen it on a total of 3 or 4 in all my travels up and down the east coast.

On the newer gen... probably that brown-purple (Auburn Mist IIRC) or Medium Gurlf Blue Metallic (SE only, 2000).
Medium Gulf Blue Metallic was also on the 1999 SEs

i have the 99 only GT gold. im not sure of the actual paint name, someone told me it was topaz gold, but when i look it up all it said was "gold metallic" the other one is the lighter sanddrift which is SE. but i know its rare as hell. thats why ill never repaint it and keep it pristine. it also has the "dark oak" tan interior (what i havent replaced wiht fiberglass), some of the 99GT golds dont have that either, some have regular dark grey.

I believe you mean this color. Iv seen one other 4 door in it and maybe 2 coupes. If i was buying the car i would not have choosen it but since it was from my parents for free i can't really complain. It's actually starting to grow on me.

Just a quick throw in do you all think a black spoiler or one that matches the paint would look better?

jackpot here you go-heres a good shot. an oldie but goodie. its weird it changes color in the sun, when its cloudy its dark gold and the sparkle cant be seen but when the sun hits it it gets lighter and the sparkle goes nuts.
you can see some other ones on my site on my sig.

Id love to see a bronze colour, like a real bronze, think that would look pretty good

Purple? lawl....please do not say purple,

I have the "purple" car, the color is called-Dark Cherry (Metallic)

and yes it is one of the rarer colors...now Throw on the 5-speed trans. and GT w/ Dark Cherry paint......then you have my 96 GA GT.
