So i wanna upgrade my front 5's and tweeters, and i saw a set (forget the manufacturer, german i believe) and it came with the 4 speakers and crossovers, and the guy said that there must already be a crossover mounted in the door. True or false?

I believe there is an inline crossover just on the tweeter. Some cheaper component sets do it too. It works o.k. but you get a better mid sound if you have a true two way crossover. What is the name of the components you want? Peace, Lee

Do you have the regular stock stereo, or the Monsoon? (Assumeing you still have the stock stereo in)

Hmmm,.. un sure of that one. I know the Monsoon has the crossovers in the head unit (both for the tweets & the woofers).

thats not true, the 2003 monsoon system has the crossovers built into the amp. The headunit puts out 8V per channel. I spliced the wires on mine and hooked them up to RCA connectors and plugged them into my amps. Look up an old post of mine to see how it is done. The wiring colors are different for 2002 Monsoon then it is for 2003.

Yes, yes, you're right, I gotta wake up befre I type! lol. The amp has 8 channels of frequency direction in it the head unit has no frequency direction in it whatsoever.
