Well yesterday I decided to change the tranny fluid and filter. That filter is REALLY STUCK in there!! The filter actually broke when I tried to pry it out, put thankfully there was a piece still sticking out of the inlet, so I took my needle nose pliers and yanked on it, and it came out. I left the o-ring in, and took the new o-ring off the new filter. I couldn't get the old o-ring out of the tranny, and since they looked exactly the same, i just left the old one in. I had a heck of a time pushing the new filter on, but I got it. Car runs great, didn't have any troubles, but I wanted some fresh fluid in there. I only added about 7 litres of fluid, I didn't drain the torque convertor. Is it supposed to be that hard to get the tranny filter off? My 2.2L (old style) cavalier was really simple, but this thing was tough!! Then I did my fuel filter, which was fun too, because that stupid black quick disconnect busted. I managed to get it off still, by shoving some grapling bar under the clamps, and the new filter has a much better designed clip. Anyways, there was quite a bit of metallic coating on my tranny pan, I wiped it all clean, and cleaned the magnet too. Is that normal? Thanks for your input.
