ok, i'm about to buy a '93 gagt coupe with the 3300 and a 5 speed. what are some common problems i should be aware of bedore buying? it has about 165,000 miles on it.

nope. the 93 GA came with a standard 5 speed. 3 speed auto was optional.

Umm.....NO. The 92 and 93 Grand Ams came with a 3 speed automatic transmission....ONLY. It was NEVER offered with a 5 spd on any N body platform. So, if it does have a 5spd - its custom.

Common problems : Motor mounts and shitty 3 speed auto transmission rarely lasts past 100,000 miles.

well how come kelly blue book says they came with a 5 speed? everywhere i've ever looked it came with a 5 speed. msn.com, autotrader.com, kbb.com. show me where it doesnt.

The 5spd is for the base 2.3L 4 cylinder. If you look at the engine type, it lists the 2.3. The Grand Am V6 hasn't came in a 5spd stock since before 1992. Trust me;)

ok i'd imagine you know better than i would. so i guess i either mistook him, or somebody did do a custom 5 spd. hmmm.....
