Whats with my radio?

The radio station I listene to all the time.. it said 97.9.. well then it changed to WNCI 97.9... and now.. it says that.. along with the song title and the singer.. whats up with that?? Is it suppose to????? I think thats neat, but can't figure out whats goin on, cause its never done that before.. Most of the radio stations will have the number.. and then sometimes later on the name of the station.. I have the monsoon sound system..

That is the RDS, i have it to :) . It came out on 2001+ GAs with the cd player. Not the ugly one, the one that sort of looks like a monsoon.

Only certain stations use RDS....I think only 1 station in my area uses it. To te best of my knoledge its not something you can control from the headunit, it comes up automatically. Pretty cool feature, almost along the lines as DSR (digital satalite radio)....at leat the way the station name and other info comes up on the display.

I have that radio in my 02 SE. The manual says you can update your time when on the station but I haven't figgered that part out yet. I usually set my car clock a bit fast anyways.
