I recently learned that even if a road may look dry during the winter, there may be something lurking on the side, like black ice.

damn fire hydrants...running out in front of cars like that *tsk tsk*:p ...well sry to hear about ur car...im sure it can be fixed and like new b4 spring :)

Your lucky the hydrant was strong enough to stay in one piece:lol: Otherwise you would have had many more problems with all that water and below freezing temperatures.

yeah black ice sucks..just had a classmate who hit that, went into oncoming traffic and got hit and killed by a semi..gotta watch out for that stuff :(

Yea, it certainly sucks. I guess it could've been alot worse. It just sucks now because now I have to wait for the holiays to be over so I can talk to the guy at the insurance company. Then I have to get it looked at and then hopefull get it fixed before I leave for school. :( It's going to be a loooong holiday.

Yeah, this time of year we have to treat every corner and every intersection as if it was icey.
Sorry to hear about your car but it could have been much worst.

Actually, the valve is low down in the ground. no water at all. My sister hit one and snapped it straight off. She drug it half a block through my neighborhood in my moms car. We are still trying to get it fixed.
