Well, I was just wondering what exactly would void the warranty, any input owuld be helpful , I was thinking about putting in my Eclipse headunit, replacing the factory one, and was wondering if any of the electrical part of the warranty would be voided??? Any input on ANYTHING that would void the warranty, not just in the radio aspect but ANYTHING because I want to do some mods but before so, I don't want to make a mistake by voiding it in the process ... thanks

umm.. anything you do will pretty much void the warrenty.. or something like if something happens to your car and it point to the mod then it will void your warrenty.. read your warrenty contract..

deejay said it, but if you have a after market stereo. They say your stereo cause your lower intake to go, or brakes.

Nothing "voids" the warranty except if you use the car professionally (like a taxi cab or a police car). The warranty applies to all the OEM parts or direct GM replacement of them. You are also not covered if a part that's warrantied is damaged by something that's not warrantied.
You should have received a little warranty booklet with your owner's manual when you bought the car. Read it.

I read that aslong as you use the correct wire harness when installing an aftermarket stereo, that it will not void the warrantee....

Thanks for the link Seth.
SEMA also has a huge section regaurding laws, many regaurding warrenty repairs, and voiding due to the installation o fnon-factory equipment.
Quoted from the link Seth provided I think this statement should always be remembered as IMO it's the most important.
"Federal law sets forth requirements for warranties and contains a number of provisions to prevent vehicle manufacturers, dealers and others from unjustly denying warranty coverage. With regard to aftermarket parts, the gist of the law is that warranty coverage cannot be denied simply because such parts are present on the vehicle, or have been used. The warranty coverage can be denied only if the aftermarket part caused the malfunction or damage for which warranty coverage is sought."
We have had a few warrenty repairs done so far. No one mentioned modded airbox, MAF, strut bar, sparkplug wires, Casper TPSE, or any othe rmod under the hood when they replaced the lower intake manifold gasket twice. Nor did they mention the wiring for the subs in the dash when they replace the turn signal relay right above it.
Those people that are rejected for warrenty work due to modifications that have no direct relationship to the part being replaced need to know their rights and contact GM customer sevice directly and/or take firmer legal actions if needed.
