Another amplifier question...

I want to install a switch so I can turn off my amp/subs whenever I want (like when I have my 1 year old son in the car).

Do I just run the power wire to a switch and then from the switch to the amp? I would think that's it, but am I missing anything?

i'd say use the remote wire and run it to a toggle switch. my headunit can mute the non-fading preamp outputs, which turns the bass off when i don't want to hear it.

why dont you just get a HU that has sub control on it? Thats what I got in my deck and it works great if my mom.. who suffers from migranes... wants a ride
