First I just want to say I know the stuff I have isnt that great but I got a great deal on them and they are like new. I just wanted to know what stuff I would need to install my system and anything I might need to know. I have:

Soundstorm: Force F500.2 Amp
-Max Watts 500W x 2
AMP Webpage (http://www.soundstormlab.com/products/FORCE AMPS.html)

Soundstorm: 2 Force SCW100 10" subs
-Already in a box
-400 Watt peak power handling
-4Ohm impedance
SUBS Webpage (http://www.soundstormlab.com/products/FORCE SPKRS.html)

I want to power the amp directly to the battery(not through the headunit) then use it to power the subs. I want to somehow attach the subs to the rear speakers. I apreciate any help.

If those specs are accurate, that amp is way to powerful for those subs...

if you do try and hook it up, keep the gain down, and listen for clipping (it will sound like a click from the subs), keep turning down the gain until it disappears.

I would hook the subs up to one channel just to be safe, don't bridge it (which would give you roughly 600 watts RMS when the subs only handle 400 Max!). Be sure and use 4 gauge wire from your positive battery terminal, then make the ground the same size (or thicker). Make the ground as SHORT as possible (I.E. about 2 feet) and bolt the ground wire directly to a solid, bare metal piece of chassis in the trunk.

You can use a line out converter (l.o.c.) to hook the signal going to rear speakers to the input on the AMP. Basicly, go to radio shack (or any car audio place) and ask for L.O.C. it should have about 8 wires (to tap up to 4 speakers' signals (+ and -))and then a set of RCA output plugs. If your amp doesn't have speaker level input, you'll have to use a L.O.C. and some RCA cables.

Head to over to Caraudioforum.com and read all you can... there's a wealth of information over there

I think the amp with match up just fine with the subs if you know how to set gains and crossovers correctly, but that holds true for any setup. It looks like the amp has a high level input that you can use instead of a "l.o.c". If you have the owners manual it should explain how to hook it up. Peace, Lee
