I'm wanting to lower my GA but I don't know if I should buy new springs or cut the ones I have already. I need to know how much to cut off. Could anyone help me with my decision?

I agree with JayHawk cutting the factory/OEM springs is not a good thing unless the car is going to stay off road (race track only and your too cheap to by the proper stuff)...
There are a lot of good suspension kits out there to lower the G/A you just have to decide how much you want to pay and how low do you want to go....
Eibach makes a good set for those who don't want to "Slam" their ride to the ground.
H&R is another company that makes lowering springs with more drop.
You can do a search to find all the companies that handle lowering the G/A....
Good Luck lowering your car....

its not even that the ride is going to suck ass, it more that people will make fun of you.
by cutting the spring you're just making it shorter with the same specs of the spring, not stiffer or anything. that just defeats the purpose.
we could have a long talk about it, i'm sure theses old thread somewhere on the board you can go back and look at.

Eibach makes lowering coil springs for our cars
i believe they are about 150-200 dollars
i paid about 150 for mine for my 91 grand am
H&R also makes springs for our year cars too
check out those places and see what they have to offer you
never cut springs or buy the kits at autozone that say it can raise and lower them by using bolts and clamps. They will not work. So spend the money and do it right the first time.
If you need help just ask me and i will help the best i can.

I know a few people who have cut their springs but they upgraded their whole suspension to protect from the bottoming out and what not,but yea never cut springs if you wanna go for performance and life of your suspension.
Sprint Performance
H&R
Eibach
Intrax, the bigger names of springs out for the GA's.

I bought the Sprint springs new off ebay... and I don't think I will keep them because the rear ones are coilbound and make noice on bumps, and a lot of times when i turn I hear a nasty squeaky sound (mostly from the right side). My power steering fluid is fine.
I think I will spring (forgive the pun) for Eibach because having my car THIS damn low kinda sux and I know those problems I have will go away.
