... held this year on June 11 thru 13 in Albany, New York. A schedule of events and additional information will be available soon but in the attempt to allow members to make necessary plans, we decided to make public the date as soon as it was finalized. Please continue to check for new information within the Meet Section.

Mainly because it conflicted with a lot of colleges going back to school. And we wanted it to be far enough in advance so that people could arrange their schedules and finances with other GA meets in the following months. :)

How come you can't make this one? :(

GM Nationals is the weekend after, and a lot of the east coasters (philly area mainly) go to this show in Carlisle

Well it all depends on if i'm still working at this sh!thole or not at that time.....if i'm not, then i can pretty much guarantee that they will not let me take off work 2 fridays in a row for car shows LoL....and even if i'm still here, who knows if i'll be able to do that here. After all, the president of my company just got canned by the foundation CEO (who was just hired not even 6 months ago) for pretty much no reason, and without any warning.....so who knows.

so adam, i think that is a pretty good reason, not an excuse :P

i really do wanna go, i had a great time last year, but it's just bad timing so i can't guarantee it :(

Well according to the map I'm looking at, it's about 3 1/2 hours from Philly to Albany. Even if you couldn't get Friday off, I see no reason why you couldn't go to bed a little early Friday night, get up Saturday morning and join us at the track. Even if you woke up at 6:30 left at 7, you could still join us at the track around 10:30/11:00

P.S. Kelly, I heard Erika fits in a GA trunk pretty easily. And Erika, I have you address ;)

1-what map are you looking at, cuz it took us over 4 hours each way

2-i refuse to wake up at 6am to drive lol

3-i have to work till at least 3 on that friday since i'll be taking the following friday off (and a friday the month before for CCN, and a week the following month for GAP)...this is even if i still work here, like i mentioned before. (anyone can feel free to kidnap me after 4pm that day...i will even ride in the trunk heheh)

i really can't give any definites until much closer, so if i make it (which hopefully i can) then i will see everyone there...if not, maybe better luck next year :(

It was discussed among people coordinating the event. From what I understand there was no intention to conflict with Nationals. But it wasn't to interfere with GAP, and I believe it was generally felt that because of school and other schedules at that time of year, June would afford more opportunity for people to come.

I still say you'd better be there!! :D

I couldn't have said it better.
Trust me I would have like the few extra months of saving $$$ and planning but from the people that were asked it was better to have it sooner. It's hard to schedule something around several other events and try to get it in before people have to worry about going back to school.
I didn't do this for any set reason. I wish there was a perfect date when everyone that wanted to come could make it, but it's simply impossible to make everyone happy, we are just doing our best with what we have to work with.

It was pretty cool, that and to see the line pulling into LVD.
We are working on a way we can reduce or illiminate that long wait for parking. Trying to find out from the park if I can 'pre-pay' and if not, I will have a few ClubECM members walk the line of cars, collecting money and handing out tickets so the one attendant doesn't have to do it all on her own.

that's not entirely true.... there's as good a chance that it will happen as not...it hasn't been announced yet. and if it's not an "organized" thing, i know quite a few ppl who are still planning on goin up there anyway :) so you better go to fall in the parking lot again hahaha

Erika stated this very well. There are reasons that GAP as it has been scheduled in the past may or may not take place. But I'm sure there will be quite a few coming into Michigan regardless :) They know they're always welcome :)

i know but the organized set up of GAP is what makes it nice. its always a ton of fun to get with everybody and party/ hang. as for falling down in the parkin lot again.....we'll see about that....but i dont think so:lol:

Looks like I'll be able to make it up there. I was talking about it with the g/f this morning and she's stoked about it (So much so that she was joking about trading in her Sunny to get a GA GT and then we could drive both of our GA's up there :lol: ). Her best friend's mother lives in Albany and would be more than happy to let us stay with her. The money we save on the hotel will cover gas and other incidentals probably won't be more than what we normally spend over the course of a weekend.

Anyway, unless something major comes up between now and then it looks like there will be at least one Florida Grand Am there in June. :D
