Does anyone know anything about nankang ns1 tires? they have a 340 tread wear rating. Temperature is A. speed rating is H= 130 mph(not going much faster than that).

they have good prices for them too. So i need your imput. The only thing that will sway me from buying them is if someone has a very bad horror story about them. or that they only last for like 10,000 miles which is unlikely... Thanks

I have Nankang NS2's on my 18's & I like them. Probably not the best for racing, but for cruising around they are a great tire. Nice tread pattern too.

Kuhmo, Falken, Nitto, etc, etc....

There is a reason they are at the bottom of the price list, as well as something not to many people have. That right there should give you a heads up on a tire. Tires are one of the most critical pieces of the car, it's what plants you to the road, don't go too cheap on them!!

I have to agree 200%. I took the plunge and bought Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions for my ZX2 and have never regretted it. Why get a Z rated tire, one may ask? Simple. With my plans (which never materialized) to run my ZX2 with a 75shot of nitrous oxide at the track, I wanted a street tire with gobs of traction, treadwear be damned! When I got the tires, I did engage nitrous in 2nd gear on an asphalt road that was damp from a rain 60 minutes prior. The tires only spun for under 2 seconds before they hooked up. My previous tires, Dunlop D60-A2's, surely would have spun for a much greater period of time. On dry roads, they gave INSTANT steering response and showed no signs of letting go even under quite harsh cornering. During an emergency braking maneuver, they stopped me very quickly. Lastly, on deep standing water, I was able to plow through it at freeway speeds without loss of control. The S-03's tread pattern obviously is meant to provide high levels of wet traction. Simply put, these tires are worth the 112 dollar price tag in 205/50-ZR15.

Ok, you want an H rated tire over a Z rated tire. Fair enough. But as Bob said, DO NOT SKIMP! Save the cash, dont buy that rap CD :D and get a decent set of Bridgestones, Yokohamas, or Dunlops. I know the aforementioned brands are not cheap, but if the difference between a cheap tire and pricier tire means an accident or accident avoidance, loss of control or remaining in control, then the extra money is damn well worth it.
