people say that you should brake torque to get the best launch. but if i just floor it normally i spin my tires, so if i brake torque am i not going to spin even more?

thanks

The reason you brake torque is to bring your engine up to an RPM where you will create more torque. You want to get a balance of toque + as little tire spin as possible by trying different RPM's.. just be careful because if you hold in too long you can do some serious transmission damage.

Start by getting better tires. It shouldn't spin on a normal launch.

Partly, when I ran I had pretty much bald RS/As, can't get any worst than that :)

That and the weight of the driver (and everything I DIDN'T take out of the car) were my two best excuses :)

I broke under 16s anyway so my goal was achieved. I didn't set very high expectations for myself...

Well i wasn't spinning my tires b4 i got my AEM intake but after i did i seemed to get more spin on normal launces...But I do agree with brake torue'ing.......I find you get a much better launch, car seems to just jump quick off the lin.Did some at the track and some without, had a better time with brake torque then without doing it.Thats why ppl with manuals do better then ppl with auto's because they can just hold their rpm's better i think.

And there are less horsepower losses in the tranny.
