Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you.... but you're saying an LS1 can be mated to a front wheel drive trans??

Maybe you could reword your 1st post to make it a little more clear.

that's the way i understand it too. i don't believe i've ever heard of a front wheel drive car with LS1. cadillac made their new toy RWD when they shoved the LS6 in it, and that car was already a FWD

No you understood me right LS1 in a fwd mode the trans used is beyond me but considering all the adapter plates avail for GM motors its more than possible and has been done. I mean you can drop all of these motors into a fiero 2.3,2.4,3.3,3.4,3.8,4.7,4.9,302,327,350 ive listed enough there is a ton more but if i wanted to run any one of those motors in my fiero on my stock tranny i could they have adapter plates and flywheels avail for them. Now yeah thats a fiero but with any one of those cars i listed the engine bay is bigger and the motor sits the same way. Now is it a good combo prob not but its being done.

You have a point but then again the back wheels in a fiero don't turn.

anything's possible i guess, and after stephen saying that i guess it would be cheaper for GM just to turn the cady into a RWD versus having to fabricate all the stuff to keep it FWD
