Did you recently have the front end aligned? The same thing happened to my Jeep when the mechanic adjusted just one tie rod instead of both. It also moved my wheel position.

Hopefully, that's your answer, it's a lot easier to fix than those little paws inside the steering column.

i realise yours is a 94, so it might be diffrent, but i know in th newer GA's there is a recall for the hazard light switch as it makes it so the signals become non functional and/or stay on... might wanna check that out.

T3rry: it isnt the hazard switch...it is just the blinker release and my GA is a 94 so the recall wouldn't effect it.
Tenspeed: the blinker started to act funny when the cold weather came. During the summer it was fine. I'm not sure if it is the cold weather that is affecting it or what...

you need a new directional switch. The canceling arm for the left turn is broken.

Wouldn't that be the whole harness in the steering column that has to be replaced (Or am I mistaken)? What a PITA that would be. Especially if you have airbags.

Entombed GT: i read somewhere that had a simpler situation behind the steering wheel and it woul dbe a PITA cuz of the air bag...the steering wheel would have to be removed and stuff.

Yes, it lives under the air bag and the stearing wheel. The turn signal shaft you move is hooked to it. So that is where it is.

would it have to be done professionally cuz of the air bag...??

Depends...........I don't know if Joe anyone can disconnect it in your year. If Yes...it's to bad from there. A stearing wheel puller would be needed. But that's about it for special tools.

If you can get past the bag it's do-able.

I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself if you're the least bit uncomfortable. Messing with the steering wheel and airbag isn't something to be taken lightly. When I had to change out the lock cylinder on my airbagless '93 Blazer, I had my friend who's a mechanic at the local Pontiac/GM come over and help me out. If you don't have anyone who knows what they're doing helping you out, I'd take it to a shop and have it done professionally.

It can be done at home. (provided you have some mechanical ability)

1) Disconnect negative batt able, and allow back up voltage to drain. (10-15 mins)
2) Pull air bag fuse.
3) Remove airbag module and disconnect airbag circuit from module (yellow connector)
4) Disconnect horn circuit from column
5) Make sure wheels are straight ahead, remove steering wheel using a suitable puller.
6) Note the alignment arrow on the clockspring (do not allow it to rotate) remove the snapring and gently pull up on the clockspring, let it hang.
7) using a lockplate depressor tool, depress the lockplate and remove the retaining ring then remove the lock plate.
8) remove the canceling cam and spring
9) Remove the directional lever and the three screws securing the directional switch.
10) Disconect the directional switch harness under the dash and gently remove switch while guiding the harness through the column.

Reverse procedure for assembly.
