Tune Up question

I went today to have a tune up done and they told me that it would cost 169.00. That is not the problem. The problem is that they told me they would not recommend using Platinum Plugs. They said they the plugs caused the car to miss and they recommended that I use regular plugs. Is there any truth to this?Thanks

I just replaced my plugs and wires.I used the AC Delco Platinums.I believe that that is what comes on our GA's stock,but I am not totally sure(99%).
