I got in three accidents in three weeks about two months ago. It was two hit and runs, and a drive-by egging. My rear bumper was almost completely destroyed, and I had a gash going from the bumper to the front fender. Not only was it cosmetically damaged, but the electrical system wasn't working like it used to, one of my speakers was cut in and out (that was the worst part), and for some reason my brakes went out. Fortunately, Since none of the accidents were my fault, the insurance company said I only had to pay the $300 deductable, any they would pay the rest. They asked where I'd like to take my car to get it fixed, so I mentioned the place called "L&G Enterprises" which happens to be near my house...The insurance guy said, "Good choice! please take your car there On January 5th at 10."

So I gave them my car. Come to find out, L&G does some pretty good work, they've been in truckin' and 4 wheeler and all that. Well I told them the situation, and asked at least to fix the hood. The manager said he would see what he could do with it.

My aunt let me use her 1989 Blazer while my GA was at the shop. I couldn't stand it, it was like a box on wheels. There was no options, the ride was horrible, it was slow, and when I wanted to use the tape player, I had to honk the horn.

So L&G called my last Friday to tell me that my car was finally ready. It took almost three weeks, so I was pretty eager to see what my car turned into, and tired of that stupid Blazer. Come to find out, not only did they fixed the problem, they practically gave me a new car. The entire car was repainted, I got a new bumper, and they totally re-tuned my suspension. It feels like I'm riding on air, yet I feel totally connected to the road. Oh it's so great.

Funny thing is, I didn't get to clean my car all out when I ave it to them, but they cleaned it out totally, which was weird. I coudln't find anything, so I popped my trunk. Sitting right there was an unopened bottle of Bacardi, and a bottle of Schearnoff (sp). Now I don't drink alcohol (I've never had it), and I guess one of my friends forgot to take it out of the car after New Years. Go Figure, last thing I want in my car is alcohol.

But! I got my car back. It looks great, and drives even better.

Congrats, glad you are happy with the results. It's also nice to see a shop take their time with something and not just rush though it and push it out the door. Now you just need to pay someone to protect it for you so all that stuff doesn't happen again. :)

It's always good when you have alternate transportation and can give the shop all the time in the world to do a good job. A lot of times, I've noticed, they'll even give you a break on the price and throw in extras since it's a no pressure at their own leisure job.

Glad to hear everything turned out well...

Yeah very true on the throwing in extras without charging you..when i was in my accident over the summer i got frustrated because it took almost a month to get back, but they did an amazing job and the guy even threw in some extra things since we've been loyal customers for a long time..patience is the key!

Glad you had a pleasent experience. You could have handed those bottles over to the people working on your car.

This is a little off topic, but I thought I'd chime in with it.

There's a Mom&Pop shop about 10 mins. away from my house where I always take my car when there's something horribly wrong with it that I can't fix. They don't do any cosmetic or body work, just engine, brakes, etc. Well, 2 summers ago my 3.1 crapped out in my old '95, and we found a used one for $400 with "69,000" miles on it. Who knows how many it actually had, but that's besides the point. I dropped my car off to them on August 22nd that summer, and I didn't get my freaking car back for 4 f*cking months. Everytime I would ask what was taking so long, my dad would say, "You and I both told them to take their time with it..." Ya, I said take your time, not 4 months to drop a freaking motor in! Needless to say, I didn't get any breaks with the install, and it came out costing me all the money I had made that summer, plus some... They didn't even do that great of a job with the install, they forgot to tighten one of the motor mounts and they didn't put my oil cap back on.

Sorry it's so long, just wanted to vent a little bit.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. I guess next time, it would be a good idea to look around and see who's the best shop to go to. I drove past the shop I took my car many times before, and it looked like a pretty big outfit. When I went inside to the desk, They had all the articles they were in or the vehicles they worked out all framed and on the wall. There was booklets of pictures showing all the curtom paint jobs they did, so I was pretty impressed.

Yeah I was thinking of that, but I could have gotten myself into big trouble, considering I'm underage and all. I would've just loved to see their faces when they popped my trunk and noticed all that alcohol in there, and somewhat suprised they didn't sneak some for themselves. I called my friend who left it in there after I found it, and he just starts laughing.
