Hey everyone
Did some work this weekend. Thought i would share some pics with you guys. If anyone interested in looking at my beginers work please let me know what you think. I love ideas, and i am looking for some ideas on how to rehang the roof console. The small hangers in the front no longer hold it up....

I used some Sherwin Williams cleaner and degreaser (pro clean), and some light sand paper. I tryed the Krylon Fusion paint, and it worked wonderfully.
I should not have used the the Sherwin Williams cleaner though, because on the black areas that i did not paint it took some of the black away also. Made it a dark grey. I think it might go away with some armoral, but i dont know. Have a ton of work to do still.
The Krylon Fusion paint was wonderfull. It was dry and able to be handled in less than 15 minutes.

yea that is were i need some advice. That screw is temporary only, and i do not know how i might hang that overhead better. Only has the two back hangers.
Also does anyone know were i can find a dark green Shift boot, and E Brake boot. Also looking for replacment shifter ball, and E Brake handle, but i cant find anything nice lookin. Something with Dark green accenting. As you can tell im going with green. The Car is like a hunter green. Also 3" gauges. Man i have a shopping list. I get lost trying to find some of this stuff on the net. It seems that its always is what I am not looking for....

and i see you plan to "remove crom" you'd be better off just covering it, wether it be paint or vinyl

Looks good, I like the choice of color. As for the screw in the console, is it possible to slip a L shaped strip of aluminum into the headliner and screw into that? You could use chrome or satin body screws thru the switch plate to hold it up.

Thats not a bad idea. Two chrome screws wouldnt look to bad....

what kind of paint did you use? and how many coats did you have to put on? looks really good, the test cracking and flaking.

I used Krylon Fusion paint.. I only have one good coat on there. I wanted to keep the original texture... No clear coat on most of it.

you could screw a peice of L aluminum into the roof and once that is positioned glue the peice you have in there to the aluminum, but just hope you never have to get back in there :D
