Was wondering if i could switch out the 194s in the headlights to a different color like clear(yea i know its not a color) b/c i so much dislike the amber, but is this legal?

the lightbulgs are already clear. The amber in on the actual lens, not the color of the bulb. The best you can do is to cover it in vinyl.

well, now wait a minute, the inner one is amber, and so is the 3157... but its supposed to be amber, but everyone puts hyperwhite in there... its realy no big deal... but its your choice....

i am pretty sure your signals MUST be red or amber, according to most laws

one thing, its not a convertible, theres no top for it, but its easier to call it that than anything else....not too much work, did the whole thing in 2 weeks, total cost w/ EVERYTHING (including truck!) is like 800, and its the best damn thing i got! everyone loves it, and it always gets taken when we go out, and ALWAYS gets girls as well as numerous smiles and thumbs up! its great, runs forever on a tank of gas and is slammed but still rides nice.. if you can make one, oh definetly do it!

Looks good.
Cadillac calls cars like that "Parade cars" They come with a sitting shelf above where the top would go if it had one. Could you rig a tarp from the windshield to the roll bar like the Jeeps have?

yea, if i were you i'd take a topper and cut the front part off it and fiberglass somethign up to make it so you can put on the roof, its too cold/wet/snowy/people steal shit here to have an open vehicle like that

back to the topic  sorry to interrupt ya'lls conversation :P.
most laws state that they have to be red or amber, but most of the time as long as they're not blue you can get by with it. for some odd reason cops around here don't like red bulbs anywhere but you're rearend

yes its the actual bulb that is amber. its the little amber one right next to the inside blinker (#194 its about the size of a cell phone stubby antenna) same as the ones for the floor lights when u open the door

By law the directions in the front of a vehicle must be amber. But very very rarely does anyone ever get hassled about them being white (clear). Our current GA has clear ones, our '95 had clear corners and turn signals, and my Z28 had clear ones. Never had a problem.
Now if you use a colored bulb, like green, red, blue there is a very good chance you'll get stopped because of them.

alrighty thanks for the info ;) think im going to get rid of that amber bulb for a white. that thing reflects off of the headlight itself and gives off its dandy little orange hue...and i just cant deal w that

All depends on where you live. In Florida, you can have white or amber up front and red or amber in the rear for turn signal lights. You can't have any red lights visible from the front of the vehicle (That's designated for the fire dept) and blue is a huuuuuuge no-no (Designated for the Po-po)....

I've got the APC Bright White bulbs for my turn signals and its a blue bulb BUT its amber when dim and white when blinks or when on(during the night)no cop/police has looked at me or pulled me over.As long as you stay with red or amber, mainly amber or white you'll be fine as long as they aren't strobes of course

i used to have some BLUE bulbs for my signals. they made a bad ass looking blue hue when they were lit because of my parking light housing. they looked awesome. i never did get pulled over for them, but i took them out after about a month

yea when it comes time for them to get so many tickets they'll get really wide eyed and look for the slightest thing,no offense to any law enforcement ppl here, its just how it is around here, especially for one local cop,he tries to catch EVERY teenage driver because he knows they get nervous when hes around so when you get nervous you tend to look suspicous, but anyways yea, red, amber and white are typically fine for turn signals.

you can usually get by with any color other than blue...or anything that gives off a blue hue i.e. purple

I have clear bulbs for my parking and turn signals on the front and I haven't had any problems so far (knocks on wood). I have Sylvania SilverStars on my headlights and they make the other clear bulbs look a little yellowish, so I think they should be ok.

i have an idea to make the 3157 white when lit but then make it alternate white- amber when turn signal is on but i know cops around here have a problem with white blinking lights so i dont know if it will be legal or not... i may do it and maby see if CDOT (colorado department of transportation) has a prob but i just got the idea this morning so havent got that far yet....
