View Full Version : Side blinker yellow thing
Hey all...
Has anyone removed the little yellow sections on the front lights and replaced them with yellow blubs? Is this legal? I know my bros Malibu has no yellow on the front lights cept the blub (this is stock).
If its not hard to remove this or what not, are there instructions anywhere?

 and it was stabbed with a serrated edge too!
he's right though. and it seems that aftermarket companies don't want to make a lot of parts for the GA. i guess we need to add a park bench and coffee can to get recognition
Lol matts. Well....vinyl is illegal for road use isn't it? I don't know the law but a few of the sites I have seen selling these say for off-road use only (for show and such). I would hate to buy 'em and install them only to find out I'm gonna get pulled over or not pass inspection in a few months. The vinyl was my original plan actually ;)
Sorry for not searching. I have no excuse ;)

It would be illegal to remove it if it was possible and it is illegal to cover up the reflector. You need an amber reflector on each side towards the front, on the GA they just happened to put it on the headlight assembly.
If you look at your brother's Malibu you'll see the reflector on the fender IIRC.
Yeah I remember looking at the reflector. It is there also...just not "as" noticable.

Also since you have a black GA try headlight covers. They are a pain at night but i like them to help black out the front.

are clear reflectors for 92-98 ga's also illegal?
Ill probably do that. I was also looking at some other cars and what about the covers that have the circles in 'em? I want something that isnt TOO noticeable (i think it looks dumb when you see these black covers with just these holes that stick out) but maybe some kinda smoked/tinted.
Im not sure if youll know what im talking about.....

they make those headlight covers with holes in them to look like projectors. like so http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=236025. those are real projectors. and you're supposed to take the headlight covers off at night. and technically those are not street legal either. in order for it to be street legal it has to have a DOT # on it. it even says "for off-road or show use only" on the box of headlight/taillight covers. it just depends on how strict the local cops are as to how easy it is to get by with them. i think the vinyl is less noticeable than covers. especially if you have tinted windows. almost all of our vehicles have tinted windshields, so headlight covers just draw more attention to the front end.
if you're wanting 100% legal, leave it as is from the factory :)
