would it be practical to have the engine bored out? or are the walls to thin as it is and is this going to increase the risk of blowing something?

it can be done but you will need all new pistons, rings, and the head will also need to be matched. but yes it is possible. and the pistions will have to be custom made or find out the actual bore of the engine and find a more popular engine with the same bore.

Most auto parts stores should beable to get ahold of an engine kit for the 3.3 that all the pistons and rings come in various sizes for whatever you desire to bore your engine over at least up to 60 over.

From what I have been told the 3.3L (3300) is the destroked 3.8L (3800). If you check out this page http://www.gnttype.org/general/v6hist.html
you will see a version of our engine came out in 1989. You will also see lots of turbos and that the heads are the same but ours has one less bolt.
So everyone bore and stroke to a 3.8 and grab a turbo! I personally won't put a turbo on it.
