Im using LED's for my tail lights.I already have 4,two in each one for the brakes.I tried one of them in the turn signal and put a regular bulb in the brake so there where no open parts.I put the turn signal on,the LED blinked fine but the indicator in the dash blinked faster then normal.Should I put a resistor or fuse in somewhere?

you shoudl put a resistor on reguardless or your led's will burn out faster. also your indicator may flash fast because it thinks your light is burend out because you most likely cut the bulb socket off so it thinks its burned out.

NO NO NO, r u confused man? he has 3157LED bulbs in there, not single led's, so he's not gonna burn anything out faster, and an led will burn out instantaniously if you hook it up to 12V, it will not light for a while then die, it would go like a fuse, snap, gone! there would be no lasting longer cause it would die as soon as the 12 was applied,

the resister he is talkin about is the load resistor, leds have an on/off rate of 1/5 a standard bulb and use 1/3 times the current, so thats why they blink fast! the resistor he is talking about is to slow the blink rate down so it blinks normal.. but if your interior blinker is going fast, then your outside ones have to be going fast... do you not like the fastness? i did not use a resistor, i used a 3157 socket i had laying around and put a regular bulb in it and hit itin the trunk and ran it in parrallel w/the blinker so it would act as the load likie before... the resistor i had was a 3 ohm 50W and it got so damn hot i was affraid i was gonna burn somthing up... so i used my parrallel idea and works great.!

a fuse wont do jack, it just for current overload, i recomend my idea, jsut put another 3157 socket in parrallel w/ a regular bulb and it will work!
