Why not just upgrade your moda to a 2.3High Output model instead, and build it for boost duty?

ya man just boost the motor you have no need to swap motors and have the nightmare of trying to make things work easyest and probly cheapset way is to work with what you have.

the engine i have i dont think can handle boost and even if it can it needs a ring job possibly a rebuild for what that costs i can just get a new engine. can the 2.3 handle boost if so how much?

Why put in the 2.0 anyway? It was good for about only 165hp boosted, if I remember correctly. You can easily surpass that with your Quad with a few basic bolt-ons and a cam swap, with no headaches.
And yes, the 2.3 Quad can take some boost in its OE form, there are a lot of j-body owners already boosting. You can buy GM's SC for about 2G's and have over 200whp, you'll have to do a few mods to make it work but I've seen it done on pre 2000 2.4's.
Just don't waste your time with the 2.0, that sucker is dead and forgotton with almost no aftermarket available.

It would be alot more trouble than it's worth to do the 2.0 swap. It will not bolt up to your existing motor mounts or tranny. You'd have some fabrication to do and probably some custom axles to make. Then there's the wire harness and ECU wiring. You'd be better off getting a reman short or long block then boosting it with about 5psi.
Some people may have forgotten about the 2.0 turbo but they probably never owned one in the first place. If they did they'd know there is aftermarket support and they are a helluva lot more fun to drive than any non-turbo GA. I'd put my stock 2.0 up against any quad-4 out there and watch them disappear in my rearview. Hell, my 3.1 walks all over quad-4's and it's only 155hp.
If you really want the 2.0 turbo experience, I'd recommend finding an old turbo GA.....GOOD LUCK!
