wanting to paint.....

I think im gonna do some more interior painting and was thinking about doing the inside door handles.On my 97 i have two screws in the little cubby and it comes out then the hoor handle has a slit but the slit isn't big enough to get around the big part of the handle.Anyone know how to shimmy the thing around the handle?

not sure on your year, but on mine i had to pull the handle like i was opening the door....

some of them you have to take the handle off...
