A couple of things.
1) I wanna get a set of Angel Eyes Fog lights. Where would be that best place to get a set?
2) I'd like to get a set of headlight bulbs that would match the color of the Angel Eyes. Anyone know of a set that would do that?
3) I am interested in changing the color of my rear turn signal from red to amber. Can I even do this without clearing out the lens?
Thanks!!

I got my Angel Eyes from eBay - $48 shipped. Angel Eyes are clear driving lights so do everyone a favor and don't wire them to the fog light circuit. I have the eye part wired to the old fog wiring.

iv seen angle eye fogs on ebay, as for yoru headlights matching the color, you wont get it exact, you'll have to get hyperwhite bulbs but a real light one so they arent bluish... but you can get angle eyes for your headlights or make them like most of us do, 50$ is hella lot of coin for some engel eyes, i am making a set for my retro w/ 1.99 mini blind adjusters from menards.. that way i can make them any shape or size or color!
you would have to clear yoru tailz for amber, i personaly dont like amber in the rear! im glad GM made that change from the 96-98 to the 99+, i hated the amber, but if you clear just the bottom, then tis gonna look funny, and amber 3157's will be too bright, you would need led's, i was behind devon when she had her turn signals on w/ amber 3157's and i couldnt hardly see, it was like the sun.. too much reflection!

PFYC.com has the Angel Eye fog's,i think they are priced pretty good.As for the light bulbs to match, just get some Nokya's(thats what i have) or anything that gives a hint of bluish color because even the white LED's sometimes look blueish at certain distance, atleast to me.I bought some red gel cap bulb covers and put them over my 3157 bulb for the turn signal on my 97(has an amber piece)and its red when my turn signal is on,no amber/orange anymore.

Are all Angel Eyes the same? In that, I mean are they all the same size?
Tenspeed: What's the big difference between fog lights and driving lights? Thanks!

Get the Optilux from PFYC.com.... they are an exact match for our cars.

I've got amber LEDs behind the stock red lense and they blink a very nice amber. It's a pretty cool effect.

According to PFYC.com, the Optilux and Angel Eyes are the same item. Are they?
How much for a pair of amber LED's? Are they just plug and play with the sockets?

Fog light have a fluted and sometimes opaque lens to disperse the light. Fogs are used to illuminate directly under the fog in front of and to the sides of the car.
Driving lights have a transparent lens. The light beam projects out similar to the high beams.
If you have Hella Angel Eyes wired to the fog light circuit, you have high beams on all the time. I was suprised when I read the box that my Angel Eyes came in. It said that they were driving lights and for off road use only.

Yes, Optilux makes the Angel Eyes foglights that are available on the PFYC website.
I got those fogs, and they are a perfect fit in the car. I had to modify the stock bracket, but it still works with all the stock stuff.

Yes, these 'fogs' are driving lights. Very rarely do I have any issues with others flashing me, but sometimes people think that I do have my highs on. When I originally installed them, they were pointing up too far, and I was getting flashed consistantly. Since I adjusted them, well, I still get flashed, but like I said, it is only rarely.

Jamstrait Hyper LED bulbs run at about 10$ a piece and you'd need 4 of them for the back. You'll also need to put resistors on your wiring harness to equalize the load or your flasher relay will think the bulbs are burnt and will flassh twice as fast.
You'd need two 3 ohm, 5+ watt resistors and you have to wire them in parallel between the blue and black wires on each taillight assembly wiring harness.

Are these the correct bulbs? Enough LEDs?

I didn't see anyway to change them, but then again, I didn't look too closly at them. When the weather gets a bit better, I can go out and look at them.... it's just too darn cold right now.

Alright, if I bought 6 LED bulbs for my turn signals (4 on the back and 2 on the front), do I need to by a load resistor for EACH bulb (6 resistors), a load resistor for each location (4 resistors), or a resistor for each side of the car (2 resistors)?
Gimli, on the website you gave, they have 15 LED bulbs for 11.95 but one of the website I gave has 20LED bulbs for 10.99. Do you know something we don't or do you just get your bulbs from that place? Thanks!

LOL
UGAkilla: i was jsut asking my friend about the same issue...but i want to make my turn signal bulbs into either red or white (red to match teh car)

The reason I wanna make my rear turn signals amber is so that they stand out from the break lights. Ever since I got rear-ended, well, you just can't be too careful I guess. I hope that putting amber LEDs in the rear turn signals makes them amber and brighter.

I would put in some led's before I changed the color.
Look at it this way:
88 - 91 GA's had red signals
92 - 94 GA's had signals tied in with the brake lights (still red)
95 - 98 GA's had amber signals
99+ GA's went back to red signals.
GM only had amber signals on for three years. I am going to stick with my red's, only because I like the look.
I would try to make it brighter before changing color.....

Well, since I'd buy two amber's for the front anyway, I'm going to only buy two and buy two of those load resistors. I'll use them on the back to see if they make any difference. If I like it, I'll keep them there and then buy 4 more to finish off the front and rear turn signals. If I don't, then I'll instal them up front and keep them there.

You'll need one resistor for each location, two 6 ohm in the front and two 3 ohm in the back. All at least 5 watt, 10 watt or more preferable. And don't waste 20$ on the load resistor these sites sell. Just go to an electronic parts store and get regular resistors, you'll have all of them for less than 5$.
As far as the number of LEDs at the site I gave you they're Jamstrait bulbs, probably the better (at least most popular by far) bulbs. They're the one you'll have the less problems finding good info on. If you wanna take a risk with the other bulbs it's your choice, but I at least won't be able to help you as much as if you get the Jamstrait.

How many watts is each lightbulb? I remember reading some where that each bulb is 27Watts. That means if it is supplied by a 12Volt source, then each bulb pulls about 2.25Amps. If I put a 6 ohm resistor at the LED bulb, then that resistor is going to get 24Watts. I don't think that a 5 or even a 10 watt resistor will be enough. Maybe since it is only blinking, the resistor will not get burnt out. Did you use a 5 or 10 watt resistor?

lol, i had a 50W resistor and i couldnt touch it when my blinker was on! but i had that per side of the car (thats all you need) but i took that out and put a single 3157 bulb and socket in parallel w/ the back blinkers and glued them into the top of a spay paint can and that to me is the safest way, and easiest.. i just t-tapped the two wires and ran them to the extra 3157 socket and used my stock 3157 bulb as the load.... works great, yeah they blink fast, but i like that...

I used to have 5 watt res. when I was experimenting with them and they worked fine. I installed them in a wrong spot though and they were hitting a piece of metal when I hit bumps and the resistors being made of ceramic they ebentually cracked. I replaced them with 10 watt res. (better located so they don't hit anything) and everything's been working fine for about 10 months now.
