I clean my mom's 03 Grand Am today and I found that the paint on the lower part of the door is really bad.
It does the same thing on both side of the car.
Here's a pic to show the problem.
Does any other 99+ GA has this problem?
Does the warranty cover that kind of prob?

what is all the white crap? as for the car. Yea, ive got the same kinda thing that your referring to perhaps. Just around the corners of those doors plus the side skirts. The paint on that lower portion of my doors is somewhat rusting off. I hate it but I cant expect much becasue of the all the miles on my baby

I would def. take it in and make them fix it. It shouldn't be doing anything like that. I don't have any problems with my paint.

Well just to let you know, once the car has been driven a bit, those are the areas it will start rusting.

I did not see any chip guard on the lower part of the door, perhaps the car had been repainted. Take it to a body shop they can redo the panels and and use chip guard.

The car only has 20224 km on right now. It's obvious that there's a problem with the paint.
My mom is gonna wait till the spring to go to the dealer to show them the problem, because it might be worst...

I'm unclear as to what parts you are talking about.. if you are referring to the white spots by the wheel well, that's just overspray. It looks like someone drove over a freshly painted road line with that car. I can't see any other white marks.

I'm talking about this, and NO this is not overspray. I'm not that stupid ya know ;)
It's clearly rock chips.
My mom got this car brand new in March of last year, so the car isn't repainted.

It really does look like someone drove over paint. There's too many white spots for it to be rock chips. Does the texture around that area feel rough? Can you see or feel any gouge like marks? That would be consistent with the rock chips theory. It's just scattered in such a way that it looks like rocks couldn't do that. It looks like damage that would occur when you drive over paint. My father in law did that in his brand new Camry, and he swore he was no where near paint. Look closely in the tires, in the treads. I found the little flecks of paint inside the treads of his tires, and that's how I knew he drove over paint - and it looked just like that.

It's not overspray, I'm sorry but please stop telling me that it's paint! The paint is gone where you see the little spot.
It started to do that back in October of last year and now it's way worst than it was.
