View Full Version : NEW or recommended products for GA's?
Looking for products you've purchased that have worked well for the Grand Am or aftermarket gear/gagets for the car that actually work - great to have or just fun.....
I'll start - I purchased an Auto Air Ionizer from Sharper Image ($40.00) - works wonders! Removes odors from the car - ecspecially cigarette smells , etc. -- Theres two kinds they sell the stand alone one and the one that plugs directly into cigarette lighter plug -- go with that one - the stand alone one sucks - works but ... just trust me - not as good as the plug in one.
What else is out there?
This would be a good start for a new forum - "New products - good/bad" How about it? Moderator? :)

If you are looking for mild Performance, I would go with an CAI, a 2.5 Inch mandral exhaust system with your choice of muffler (I would Recommend Magnaflow), and TOG or S&S Headers.
If you are looking for a little more agressive Performance, I would do the top end of the engine including... 62MM TB, P&P manifolds. I would also get full head work done including a P&P and a valve job, also get .020 milled off them, this will give you some more compression and will really give you some better low end torque. However if you are wanting to run boost stay away from this option. You also might want to go with some LS1 Valve springs, they are not much stiffer but they will alow you to get the most out of you free flowing top end reducing valve float, stock 3400's start to float around 5500. And to fallow it up a Magnaflow High Flow cat.
Some other mods to do after you have a good mod list would be a calibrated MAF an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, and a DHP reprogram.
Of course DONT forget about the tranny, DHP will Adjust line pressure for some stronger shifts, but you are going to want to get rid of some of the heat, Installing a good sized tranny cooler will help out. You dont want to go nuts because if you go to big you tranny will not shift into over drive in cooler weather. Synthetic tranny fluid is also i costly but good idea.
As for show a nice set of HID's Always looks good!
How can you tell I'm Board out of my face at work :roll2:
Yes, - I know the car perfromance section covers most of whats been posted - jokes too :)
Looking for real endaftermarket ..."gadgets" - I guess..
How about real decent floor mats that stand up to harsh Wisconsin winters - and conform to the grand am floor board- all the while saving the oem carpeting.
Aftermarket rearview mirror that has an small LCD built into it - I know there's one out there....anyone tried it?
I know another - I purchased a hands-free cell phone kit from Brookstone --
