Do you think pontiac will fix my car if I mention that it just does not do 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds as advertised and definately does not do 1/4 mile in mid 15th.
I know they dont want me taking it to the track, but thats the only way to test if it does 0 to 60 and what time it takes it to do so.

No.
If there's a serious lack of power, it would indicate a problem and they will fix it. Running a tad slower than some other cars is not their obligation to fix - performance is not guaranteed.
I wouldn't even mention it - saying that it is "too slow" will open the floor up for them acusing you of "beating" the car.

unless you are doing 0-60 in like 16 seconds, probably not.

Thats like trying to return a chicken sandwich because you think it doesn't taste like chicken....they'll probably just accuse you of abusing your car and do nothing.

And how exactly are you measuring this accurately? And if you say by speedometer and stopwatch, those numbers are completely inaccurate.

got timeslips from the track. Way I see it, they promised on their website it will be fast 0 to 60 in under 8 seconds. Yet it just cant do it.

There's several variables. You cant just stomp the gas and achieve those times. 0-60 in under 8 seconds was done by professional driver with near perfect launches. With a s/n like streetracer, I'd think you're probably in your teens, and therefore would not qualify as a professional. Stupid question maybe, but when it takes you ten seconds, do you have your ETS turned off? If its on, that'll bog you down considerably. If its off, and you just floor it, you'll have plenty of wheelspin, which will also slow you down drastically.

You post a time of 16.0@84MPH, which is exactly where the '99+ GT should be. Yes, some are faster, and some are slower.
There are too many variables to consider. If you're running 16 seconds in the 1/4 mile, I doubt there is anything seriously wrong with your car. If you were running 18's, however, I could see your point. But even then you'd have a tough time pleading your case.

Track slips do not tell you 0-60 times. The only possible way to get an idea is if your 1/8 trap speed is 60 MPH by coincidence. Even so, it is a trap speed (2 light beams) not an instantaneous speed. This is also not an accurate 0-60 reading.
They don't promise anything. No car maker does. It is mearly a specification for comparison purposes.

s/n streetracer is just an old s/n i use from a game i used to play when I was a kid (game was called streetracer).
I am in mid 20th. not a teen. I might not be a pro, but I am definately close to perfection of dragging this car, my RT's are around .560 Just this car seriously has issues going past 84. If you look no other grand am finished 1/4 mile @ 84. Thats like the lack of hp there. btw i dont get any wheelspin, this car cant actually do any wheelspin at all compared to even a stock ga.
or am I wrong.

Ummm, look in our timeslip database. Look through the timeslips on n-body.net. Most stock '99+ V6 N-bodies run 15.8-16.3 at between 83 and 86 MPH. Both of my own included. I don't know what else I can say to convince you that your car is running right where it should.
Have you kept up with the routine maintenance? Oil changes? Spark Plugs? Fuel and air filters? PCV valve?
