This is the second time that I have had this problem with my car. I was driving to work the other morning and as I'm driving the darn thing just shuts down. I had a full tank of gas and no other problems. I had to get pushed out of the middle of the road and I did that thing where you turn the key to the on position for 15 minutes and then it started up fine, no problems. Someone said to get a new BCM module. But I'm not sure. Is anyone else having any similar problems??

But my one other concern is having to do with my RPM's. Lately whenever I'm just idleing, waiting for a light or whatnot, the rpm's with go from 500 up to 1500 and back close to zero. And while this occurs the car is sputtering and reving up and down without my foot even getting taken off the brake. Also as the rpms get closer to zero the lights dim. And when I turn off my car the battery light and the oil light shine for a minute and turn off. I'm so confused. If anyone could help, I'd be greatly appreciative!!

The RPM change is most likely a vacumm leak. But it also sound like the Alt is going out (maybe) on you. Giving fake reading to the computer, witch in turn is making the motor run ruff.

Get a staring system eletrical check done. See how much power the alt is putting out. Some parts store will do it for free.

I had the alternator teasted a few weeks ago and it was perfectly fine. Which makes the whole thing even more frustrating.

When was the last time you cleaned the connectors at the battery, Both where they connect to the battery and where the wires connect to the thing that goes on the battery post. I've had the wire where it goes into the thing that goes over the post rot, but I could not see it till I dug for it.

Clean it real good, if it's still there start listening for a sound like air puching out the side of a straw or a whistle sound. That would be the vac-leak.
