Couple of Questions...

Ok guys and gals... I have a 2001 Grand AM GT and got it with 48000 miles on it. Now I know that is right in the time of tune up time... so I have done my plugs, wires, K & N filter, oil, the usual right? But I do have a few questions...

1. I have this problem with my ABS and Trac Off light coming on. So I had it checked out and it turns out that my ABS Sensor is shortening out. I have been told that it is needed to change the whole hub to fix that. I have also been told that my ABS sensor is not inside the hub... so is there anyone who knows for sure. If there is anyone know where I can get some direction on how to do it... dealership wants $480, way to much for the job.

2. Has anyone had problems with their car starting really hard sometimes? Like it will start but it cranks for a really long time?

Using the search button you'd have found out that:

1. This is a fairly common problem and most of the time both the hub and ABS sensor have to be replaced. Easy job to do yourself.

2. This is probably related to the fuel pressure issue. Turn the key to "ON" without starting the car for a few seconds then start it. If that works then it's your fuel pump that need some time to pressurize the fuel lines. Nothing you can do about it.
