here is my problem. I recently did an engine job to my car and ever sicne I have not been able to get into passing gear. I think I just need to adjust my TV valve cable but I am also considering the option that when I put the car back together I got the TV cable and the accellorator cable on the wrong pullies (up at the throttle body) or that I place the unit togethre wrong. If anyone has a grand am with a 2.5L engine and could take a digital pic of the two 'pullies' where the TV cable and the accellorator cable and send it to me so I could verrify that I have them right I woudl apreaciate it. I checked the chilton manual but I only found pics of the 2.3L.
Also I apear to be leaking oil from under the lower most pullie on the left of the enigne, I belave it's the crank pullie. I dun know how the oil is getting out there but I am curius if the is a gasket or two there that woudl allow the oil to leak out. I can only get about 2-3L of oil in and then it drains the rest out. I belave that this may be caused by the gasket that seal in my timming gears but not sure. any opinion on this woudl be great.
finnally I am curious if anyone know aproximently how long/hard of a job it is to changing the timming gears in this car. I have a nastly tick and have be told that often the gears need to be replaced after awhile.
