My low coolant light came on last week and since then I've gone through 2 gallons of antifreeze. I took it to the shop, and the guy said it looked like I needed to replace the gasket near my thermostat housing (I think). I took it to another place today, and they said it was my head gasket and that it would cost $700.00 to fix. I asked a co worker to look, and he thinks it's the manifold gasket. When he squeezed on a hose you could see antifreeze getting pushed out around the seam of the manifold gasket. Does this sound right to anyone? I hate to take it in and have a head gasket replaced when it doesn't need it.
Any advise would be very appreciated, and thanks in advance.
