keep in mind while your car shares the same engine as ours does. The systems in the GA and Cavalier are not the same. A recall for something related to our cars may not effect yours. Unless its a general recall on the engine which this wasnt because saturn wasnt effected by this recall

I got the ECM reprogrammed last oil change (or I should saw my wife did).
Mileage went up a couple of MPG. Some of it may have came from the new K&N filter. I now get 31-32 MPG with the 2.2L/5 speed. I noticed a 5 MPG drop last fall after I mounted my 17's.

I cant find information on the recall however it is now listed under the GM owners center if your registered with them. They dont have any information but its listed as ODB system software upgrade. when you click to find out more information it says none is available......really helpfull i know :roll2:

Yes just go to the dealership they should have all the info on what to do its no big deal.
Rocketfast-smelling gas is never a good thing as far as the update to the software for the Ecotec it did not effect performance at all.

i called my dealership on Shadow (mom's car) to find out if she applied for the recall... they told me that her VIN doesnt show up as needing the service... so im assuming its just some of the Eco's

yeah its only the vehicles with the Ecotec engine it doesnt apply to any other model with the 2.4L or the 3400 Series V6

Shadow does have the Eco in her.... but according to my "service advisor" @ the dealership, its only a certian section of VIN numbers.

I went to the dealer today and got the software upgraded... I hope it helps, but i don't think i'll be able too tell since i went to the dealership got that done then drove about 30 miles to get tires. I drove down with my 17's and came back with the 18's so i think its going to be real hard to tell....

I just got my car in for service today on the recall. It'll be interesting to see if it does anything to improve fuel economy. On the highway I'm getting about 25mpg, not what I would expect.

Well, I would debate that if this was posted in it's own thread. No point in totally highjacking this thread.
