I used a drill prees with a 1 1/2 X 2 inch sanding drum to get the job done. I raised the working surface right up to the drum so I could sand the MAS evenley keeping it leval on the table. All the white stuff is what is left of it. (Sorry it is winter time the shop is a mess but I don't spend much time out there this time of year it will get a cleaning in the spring.)

I used a 50 and 120 grit on the drum. The I wet sanded it with 320, then 800 and finished it off with 1500. I am happy with how it turned out.

I was surprised it wasn;t on his car the SECOND it was finished ... you don't realize how impatient Shawn is until you "get to know him"

Mine is in the car now... I installed it on Sunday afternoon. Still too early to tell about performance, there was way too much water and slush on the roads.

I was just wondering... what does removing the MAF screen for? Does it let more air pass at one time or something? Because i just installed custom CAI and i dont know if i should take off the screen.

... taking the screen out may or may not make any difference depending on who you talk to but I can tell you from personal expereince that removing the screen AND the baffle plate does!!

You say Baffle plates??? What baffle plates are you talking about?? Are they in the intake itself or are you speaking of the excess metal in the MAF itself ?

i really need to do this with all my other ported parts. did you just replace the sensors or are they removeable? i havnt had a chance to look closely at the MAF yet, but now that i have a dremel, i think this is a possible mod for me.
