I went to www.knightsperformance.com and browsed around and sent them an email. Didn't get a reply yet, but I think if we can annoy them enough, I think we may have a candidate for more exterior accessories. Here's the email I sent them:
Hood- Hey guys, how's it going? I'm really interested in a hood being designed for the Grand Am 99+. I'm tired of the same old looking Ram Air Hoods that are on stock Grand Am's and even some of the custom made hoods look almost similar to the stock ram air hoods. What's different about you guys is that the scoops are larger and more in your face, which I think is really aggressive and cool. I thought about a hood design just like the intrigue's hood, but the scoops would have the width of the ram air induction in between the headlights. Also move the scoops up just alittle closer up front, like the GTP pic that you guys have. Finally, if it could be done in carbon Fibre that would make things 5x's better. I hope that put a good mental picture for whomever this may concern. All in all, another hood for the Grand Am would just be great.
Body Kit- Anything would be great! I mean a n Intrigue Kit would look great, but I think a custom Cobra R kit would be better. I'm a member of gaowners.com and their are a quite a few people requesting a kit that would resemble a custom Cobra R or maybe even the kit picture that I sent. Thanks and I appreciate whomever this may concern on reading my email request.

actually if you look at my most recent post, you will know that FX Designs may be producing a kit for our cars with using my car as a project car. Wont be until next year, but thats good enough for me. BTW i will be based on the cobra kit. heres an idea from a photochop a guy posted. Its a pretyt good base to be used.

Might want to contact people on AleroMod about Knight's Performance. They tried to get a bodykit produced by them and nothing really came of it. Same deal...you need a minimum of 10 preorders (cash only to Canada for this co.) and a donor car.
And don't worry about kits...I got a surprise in store for you all.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN neo, I couldn't invision the kit when you were saying it on the boards.
That thing's AWESOME.
I WANT I WANT lol.
Even if I get a kit this season, I'll buy that when it comes out.

Neo-Blue99GASE- Dude, that's the kit I need. God damn looks good. Maybe their's a way we could persuade them to manufacture the kit quicker.
SikMindz- Yeah, I used to be an Aleromod member (till the 65mph smash into the wall) and I heard of the slow production of the kit for the Alero and their hood production got cancelled. On an another note, dude you gotta give us more info then that. I need a kit for the summer coming up.

Im just looking for a nice kit thats conservative, yet nice looking. I came up with the mustang kit idea about a year ago when I saw what they were doing with the cobra redesign in a couple of mags. Personaly, im a fan of the front bumper mostly though. For side skirts, I could really care less as long as it has a nice, uniform look to it. The rear bumper is still the big question mark though. Ill have to work with the guys at FX for that, because I really dont like the AAS rear and the AED is only so-so. As a side note, Ill have to check around a bit with FX and see if they have some shops in ontario/quebec. Im thinking that I wont make it into basic until late july, early august and I have a good chance of having it at St. Jean in Quebec. After that, during the winter when im in my classes, im pretty sure I wont be needing a vehicle so they could have it then.

I Agree, mustangs are crap, and a Grand Am is much more mature than a mustang, and mustangs fall apart fast.
PS: Why does everyone have SE, GT look better and are faster, whats uP!?

hehe, insurance is cheaper and ill pit my 99GASE against a GT anyday, I will win, because I hate losing and ive raced quite a few GT's and I still win. For why eveyrone wants the cobra R mustang kit? well I like the looks of it. Personally ive been a mustang fan for my entire life. Id love to see that kit on a GA and turn it into a rally style car. That is my dream car. Unfortunatly, like ive mentioned before, the actual kit wont come of for a while due to the fact that I wont have the money until this fall. One good thing is once im in the army, ill easily be able to afford the kit and hopefully it goes into production next winter. I have already altered the design slightly to allow for fog lights to be used, im incorportating part of the design off a GTO body kit that ive seen on another site. The most important factor for me is the rear facia, its vitally important that it looks good, otherwise it becomes another Andy's which I really dont like, hopefully, thats where most of the GTO kit can fit in.

faster?.. maby when stock... i would like to see a 3x00 push 270 (crank) hp and weigh 250lbs(i my eco will soon enough)... an aftermarket ecotec will kill a about any 3x00... and as far as looks go the 03-04 are smooth and understated.. i like that
ps (270 is with some cheater spray.. but it still counts)

hehe I hate the look of the newer SE's, the older style is ribbed for her pleasure you know! hehe sorry, they just look too much like an alero to me and while an alero is nice, a GA with an alero kit just doesnt slide with me. Actually, its not hard for a 3400 to be running 270 hp crank. Throwing a 75 shot of nitrous plus some bolt on's will do it. The problem with the ecotec is that it lacks all the great virtues of a 3400. Beautiful stock torque and HP at just the right numbers. You dont see too many cars that have 190 ft-lbs of torque at 2000 rpms. The troque curve is almost completely flat and stable at 200 ft-lbs ( crank ). You need that kind of power to launch this heavy baby well.

like i say if your stayin stock i would also prefer a 3400 but because im gonna mod the hell out of mine i think the eco has more potential gm has already pulled out crazy torque and hp # with this motor and its going into any car it will fit so the after market for this motor will far surpass that of the 3400
as far as the "grand alero" body style it depends on your taste i have always liked the smoother understated cars rather the the choppy agressive one ( ie i like the RK over the aas aed body kits) they just have more class in my oppinion...

I dont know, id say, if you want less agressive, just buy an alero. The only reason the ecotec is stated as supperior to the 3400 is the aftermarket. Common, how much all motor can you pump out of the ecotec? Whether is the 2.0L ecotec or the 2.2L, that car does not have the balls it takes to properly launch a 3100 lbs car without running boost. Yes, I know, the ecotec can be made to be very fast, hell they even have a 2.0L ecotec in a saturn that can reach speeds of over 200 MPH. But that is with over 25 psi of boost in a saturn ion! If you ask me, from what ive heard, the ion has some serious problems with it. The red line is great car considering what it is based upon, but its still laking a lot of things that make, lets say the srt-4, a powerful fast car. All in all, yes, the ecotec can be made to go fast, but remember, this isnt no cavy or sunfire, its got over 300 lbs on those cars which is a lot of weight. Also remember that for all motor, ecotec's are greatly lacking in several areas.

It aint mine and I cant remember who made it though he must have read my mind when he chopped it. Damn, I wish I remembered who made the chop again. Thats the basic idea of the kit though. The front facia will be altered a bit to all you to have fog lights, and as for thee rear, well im kinda looking on basing the rear off a GTO ive seen in a pic. But once again. This kit is only in my thoughts phase, FX Designs will want to add their own unique touch to it im sure. Also, I might run into problems of actually getting my car to FX, because I dont know if I have to take it to the shop in edmonton, or if I can do it at a shop in ontario where im moving in a bit. Stay tuned for latest updates, hell I might even stop by there sometime and throw some ideas with them around and get their feedback

Ok so as you can see, there are similar in several repects. The most problem ive had is coming up with what the rear is going ot look like, because even with the GTO pic, you still can get a good look at the rear facia, and if I dont like the rear facia, I wont like the kit.
