Well it depends, sometimes mine shifts at 5200-5400 when I press the peddle but when I press it harder then normal it shifts at about 5600.I had an arguement about this about a week ago so I had to see for myself.........

i also noticed that if you put it in second, and shift to third, the RPM is close to 6000, and you can chirp :D

mines about 5800 but if you put it in second it shifts faster/harder. question i have is why on the 3rd-4th shift it seems to shift at around 4800rpm. I cant see it being hard on the tranny to go the full rev range before going to 4th.

i think youd hit the speed governor on some cars (SEs) if the car ran up to 5600 before shifting to overdrive... but then again automatic transmissions are weird like that

This might be "slightly" unrelated but I've noticed something rather weird. When shifting from second to third in my car, I watch the tach and it ALWAYS drops a couple hundred RPM, assosciated with a shift sound and then seconds later it'll drop way more, assosciated with another apparent shift sound. If you count all the shift sounds and/or tach drops from 0 to some high speed well into 4th gear I actually count more than 4 gears worth of shifting. I'm convinced the second to third shift is where the extra mini-shift is. I don't actually believe there's an extra shift but it sure seems like it... Anyone notice this??

if your racing you don't want to floor it until the tranny hits the limiter and switches...
Hold in second with trac off until 5k rmp and shift up to 3rd, bring the petal back to half throttle and then go back into it, not all at once though.

Did you mod the car to remove the limiter? I thought the car wouldn't let the RPM go that far?

The car is highly modded so it can accept such high RPMS and i have a custom tuned PCM which helped make it possible.
